Where Do We Go From Here?

On this morning after Election Day here in the United States my heart is filled with reminders that God is STILL in control. No matter how you voted and how you view the results today, we must always be confident that God will never fail. He has promised to those who follow Him that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

We woke today with the knowledge that Mr. Obama will soon be our President. Whether you like that thought or not, God has given us clear directions in His Word. We are to pray for him and for those who were elected to places of leadership and authority.
I urge, then, first of all,
that requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone—
for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved
and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
I Timothy 2:1-4

The challenge comes to me that while I am praying for our new president I am to live a peaceful and quiet life in all Godliness and holiness. What a challenge for me! And I am reminded that God wants Mr. Obama to seek His face as he steps into the responsibilities he will soon take on. I believe when that time comes he will find the load of responsibilities are much heavier to carry than ever imagined. I pray he will turn to God as His source of strength and that he will come to know the Truth - Jesus who is the only Way, the Truth and the Life.

These things I know - no matter what changes are made in this country I love dearly: God is still on the throne and HE is 'the blessed controller of all things'. If you want to be encouraged and filled with praise read Mimi's post 'Top Ten Predictions for 2009'. You will be blessed!

  3. Thanks for this encouraging post today.

Yes, God is still in control, however, if we do not turn from our wicked ways, humble ourselves and pray ~ He can choose to ignore our prayers. He hears them, but may choose to ignore them.

As for me. . . I'm waiting for the "Shout" ~ I don't think it will be too long now. . . and I'm ready to go with Him!

    Blessings,
