Spring Sunshine

“Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"...
"It is the sun shining on the rain
and the rain falling on the sunshine...”

Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

Spring has arrived in the Pacific Northwest and I love it.  We’ve been out and about over the past few days.  Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve seen.  The past week has been absolutely gorgeous here in our part of the world – and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it!  On our agenda - a visit to a local tulip festival. . .

In other news, my foot is out of the walking cast boot and I am wearing two shoes again!  The problems with my foot and ankle have not been resolved so I've decided to get a second opinion from a specialist my sweetheart and I both saw several years ago.  I hope there will be some answers but – for the moment – I’m walking and doing things in a ‘normal’ way again!  I’ve been able to put on my walking shoes and walk all over two absolutely gorgeous gardens lately.  I'll share more of that soon (after I finish editing photos of the inside of the wonderful, historic lodge on Mount Hood).  Thank you for your comments and emails and kind thoughts while I was hobbling around in that big boot!  For now – I’m off to the races!

  3. Yay! Glad you are better, and I hope that second opinion helps straighten things up completely. It looks like you must be about a month ahead of us as far as blooms. We won't have lilacs for another 3-4 weeks. I'm glad to get an early glimpse of them here:>)

  4. Sometimes the ordinary days of healing, working on Daffodil, and venturing into the garden are all so special. Did you know the garden sale is at the fairgrounds this weekend near you? We plan on visiting there.

  5. Glad you're feeling better and I hope the new specialist will be able to help you.

The lilac is stunning! I miss lilacs. I have two bushes here but they just didn't get enough cold weather this year to put on any blooms. It's hard to grow lilacs in Georgia!

  6. Yay! Boots off! I'm so glad to hear it. You'll be dancing a jig in no time!

The tulips are beautiful. We didn't make it to the festival this year, but I hope we can next year!

  7. I am glad you are on the mend and the gardens alone are enough to get you out and about. Yes, spring and warm weather are here!

  8. Sorry to read of your foot problem Adrienne and prayers go out to you for a resolution.

Good to see your little caravan coming along.

So many bulbs are rotting in the fields here as it has been far too wet and cold for too long.
