I'm just stopping for a few minutes to give you an update on my dear little mother's health. She is greatly improved and regaining strength. The pain of Shingles was severe and together with severe side effects from the anti-viral medication led to some very difficult days. God is so good and He carried her through the worst. Potentially devasting side effects do not appear to have damaged her internal organs and she is able to control the remaining mild pain with aspirin. Over the past few days she has puttered around her home and yard a bit. It's good to see her rearranging a thing or two in her home and to hear that she is able to trim her roses or pull a few weeds for a few minutes each morning. Thank you for your prayers and emails. It meant much to me and her heart was touched as I shared them with her. Sometimes knowing you were praying for her got her through the rough moments. I appreciate each of you. What a great group of caring friends! We are grateful to God for sending you into our lives.
I'm off today for chaplain training and meetings in Eugene, about two hours south of my home. These times together with other chaplains bring refreshing and renewal that help us continue to give a bit of ourselves to the dear residents where we minister. My camera is travelling with me - I might see something along the way to share. I have a couple of possible stops in mind as I travel homeward this afternoon. God bless your day today. I'll catch up when I return home later today.
