Marshmallow World

It all started early Sunday morning. Snowflakes began to fall - a bit unusual this early in the season here. That began a very cold, snow-y, icy week. We have had cold weather with more on the way today and through the weekend. I took these pictures just as it all started. While this may not seem like much for many of you we usually just have cloudy days and rain through the winter. I just couldn't help myself - I started to sing.

It's a marshmallow world in the winter
When the snow comes to cover the ground.
It's a time for play,
It's a whipped cream day -
I wait for it the whole year round.
Those are marshmallow clouds being friendly
In the arms of the evergreen trees,
And the sun is red like a pumpkin head,
It's shining so your nose won't freeze. The world is your snowball -
See how it grows;
That's how it goes
Whenever it snows,
The world is your snowball
Just for a song,
Get out and roll it along.
Oh-oh! Someone has been out rolling it along! My sweetheart? What are you doing out there? Hey, wait for me!

It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts,
Take a walk with your favorite girl,
It's a sugar date, what if spring is late?
In winter, it's a marshmallow world.

  1. It looks like you're living in a wonderland right now. I had such a pleasant time just now catching up on all your posts. I see you are late to decorate like me. I'm glad you have family moving near to celebrate as you also mourn the loss of your husband's stepmother. What a beautiful story that was, Adrienne!
    Hugs,
    Lallee

  2. Isn't it pretty? until I have to drive in it tommorrow to work In Tualatin.
I just wanted to stop by and say hi.
I feel so bad for Woodburn and those policemen. It was such a senseless act of violence.

  3. What a beautiful post, I just love the snow or marshmellows to you... In our area we get a lot of this white stuff, so far over 60 inches and it's not even winter yet! Thankfully, it melts off every now and again, could you imagine 60 inches of snow if it stayed,
    Ugh!

  13. I have not heard this song in a very long time. Thanks for the memories Adrienne! Yeah, Marshmallows are lighter to shovel than snow! ~ Ha-Ha.

Wow, lots of beautiful snowy pictures. We are expecting 6 - 8" tonight. Of course, our 14 1/2 year old hopes it starts sooner than later to cancel school tomorrow. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again and only have to think about cancelling school? I'm thinking; shovel snow, do we have enough bread and milk, is there anything I MUST do/buy before CHRISTmas, are our parents OK!!!

Merry CHRISTmas Adrienne to you and your sweetheart incase LIFE gets busy and I am not able to return for a visit.

    Blessings,

    Sher
