The Path Of Peace

Sometimes we see or hear something that touches our heart but we don't realize the impact it will have on us in the near future.  That's what happened for me while I was away at a camp-out with girlfriends early this month.  We spent some time in a few antique malls and shops and we enjoyed every bit of it.  I was upstairs in by myself in one shop when I turned the corner and saw this chalkboard.  For some reason I knew I wanted to take a photo.  Little did I know how much the words on this chalkboard sign would come to mean in the weeks that followed.  These words have come to mind over and over since I first saw them.

This Scripture is taken from Luke 1:79.  What a comfort - and a blessing - to know that God will lead us in paths of peace.  No matter what is happening all around us.

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you
 because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3

(Scripture passages from the English Standard Version)

  3. "He goes before us to prepare the way." I thought of this as I read your words about the sign. He speaks to us often in so many ways, just when we need it! So sad about your daughter's little Levi. May the Lord comfort all of you in special ways.

Thank you for looking at my grandson's wedding pictures, and for your sweet comment and blessing.

  5. A good reminder for me right now Adrienne. We have some changes going on around us, painful, divisive, etc., etc. and last week God made it clear to me how I was living in the "what ifs" rather than His peace for the day. It's still hard but peace returned as I got on with the plans for now, leaving the future to Him. Not saying I never 'wobble' but that is so different to living in it. So thank you. God is good at getting our attention isn't he.

  6. Isn't it funny how what we need the most pops up right in front of us? Sometimes even before we know we need it.

  7. Love this my friend. Amazing at how God always knows just what we need and when we need it. And...sometimes, it's not a moment too soon! Praying! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  10. HI sweetie! I never tire of knowing my God wants to give me His peace. I'll take it! ;) Thanks for popping in to see me.
Do you know Brenda who blogs at Cozy Little House? She's had a couple of posts on little vintage trailers and would maybe like to live in one. Everyone is giving her advice - thought you might like to pop in and tell her about your Daffy! ;)

  11. Hi Adrienne! Thanks so much for popping in to see Marion's outfit. Oh, my goodness...you still have the patterns from the time your daughter was little? Oh, that's marvelous. Yes, yes, dust off the sewing machine and go to town. I would love to see your patterns. I've made doll clothes forever but alas I didn't keep the patterns. As my daughter's dolls changed, I would just get rid of the clothes patterns. Post about yours, please!!! :)

    Shelia ;)

  13. Hello Adrienne, isn't it wonderful how He shares He's word with us in many different ways. He knew you would be in that spot and see that chalkboard:) Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog. Do come again, my welcome mat is always out. Oh, I love your little yellow trailer and the way you carried the yellow inside. It's so pretty and cheerful; you did an excellent job of decorating it.
