Finds and Treasures (8)

Time to share a few more recent finds and treasures. My dear little mother was feeling well enough to stop at a couple of garage sales with me yesterday morning. It was good for her to get out and enjoy people and the fun of shopping in a few driveways around town. I found a Better Homes and Gardens Landscaping book, a magnetic drawing board for my grandchildren to enjoy when they visit and a couple of books I was delighted to find.

Recent Friday Finds and thrifting adventures have been successful. One Friday I found a beautiful table runner at a garage sale. It was perfect for my table.A stop at the Goodwill when my out-of-state family was here was fun. We enjoyed being together and discovering special treasures for each of us. I quickly spotted this little basket. My cousin thoroughly searched along the aisle filled with dishes, glassware and assorted serving pieces. She found two little yellow baking dishes for me. I can imagine enjoying warm potpies by the fireside this winter. With my sweetheart.A few days ago I stopped by the Goodwill again and was surprised to find this cup and saucer on the shelf for an incredibly low price. When I saw the price I assumed it was made in Japan. Wrong! Bone china -made in England. I knew it was meant for me! After all, it has yellow roses on it.I think it's time to brew some tea, sit down with a good book and rest for awhile. Maybe I'll have mint tea today. In my new teacup.

  2. I'm glad your mother felt like going out. I love the little basket and how neat to find the pretty fine china tea cup and saucer. Maybe I had better go up to the Goodwill up the street from me.

  4. I'm so glad your mom was up to an outing after her ordeal with shingles and medication reaction. Your finds are lovely and very you. Also glad you were unharmed by the fires. That was quite a story!
