Autumn Leaves

Here in our part of Oregon we have had the most beautiful, crisp and cool Fall days. We've had sunny skies for many days and I think we are getting spoiled! Yesterday morning we had some rain with periods of intermittent sunshine. The big maple tree near our front door is gorgeous! It doesn't matter if the sun is shining on it or if the raindrops are highlighting the brilliantly colored leaves. It is just gorgeous!!! Yesterday I worked at home - a combination of preparation for my chaplain ministries this week and housework. I found myself constantly drawn to the front windows of our little home and the center of my attention was always the tree and the leaves that have fallen. Normally I keep the mini-blinds on the windows down but open. Yesterday I couldn't leave them down. I wanted to clearly see the artistry of the season. So, I raised the blinds, let a bit of the world outside in and enjoyed the view for the rest of the day and into early evening. Not long after 'letting Fall in' I decided to take pictures and share with you what I enjoyed all day long.

Through the living room window. . .
And down the hall just a ways, the view from the office/sewing room window. The leaves are covering the front walk. . .The mophead grass. . .And they are filling the little concrete leaf below.Someone has to rake the leaves - a big job! But for today I'll open the blinds again, let the sunshine in and enjoy the colorful view of the world just outside my window and door.

  1. Oh, what a beautiful view! I would raise the blinds to see better too! We don't get fall changes like that here in FL! I miss it sometimes too. We are getting lower temperatures now, perfect plesant mild weather!!

  2. OOOOO, what a beautiful site. All those different colored leaves falling every where. Out here in West Texas, we just don't have the pretty color change of leaves. Enjoy !!
    love, bj

  3. I have several maple trees and the colors are beautiful I brought in a bunch of leaves and have them in a phone book getting dry. Your veiw out your window was well worth opening the blinds.

  4. Hello Dear Adrienne!
Happy to hear and see you are enjoying the lovely Fall colors! Yes! your views are a delight to the eyes!
It has turned cold, gray and windy with a little bit of sleet at times here in the Northeast. I don't mind at all--it's just as it should be. Our leaves are way past peek now--just about all off many of the trees. This lovely season did seem to pass more quickly this year--but I will enjoy the Christmas season also and try to get much done during the long winter months.
Did I tell you I have an married adopted daughter who lives in Oregon? She has a blog also--called "Stepping Heavenward"
I would love to have you up to the cabin for tea if we lived closer!
I'm praying for our country also!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for all your kind words left at the cabin!
    Blessings to you!
    Claudia O.

  5. Hi Adrienne! Gorgeous fallen photos!! Wish I had some of that beautiful color to look at here. Never gonna happen!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia :)

  6. What a beautiful view you have from inside your home. That maple tree is glorious! I am lucky I live in the middle of the forest with no lawn...I don't have to rake the leaves.

  7. They sure are beautiful, but they sure are falling fast ! *sigh*
