Autumn In My Neighborhood

Signs of autumn are everywhere. A few blocks from our home is my dear mother's darling, little cottage home that my father built when I was in high school. She has decorated the inside and outside to give you a cheery welcome when you visit. Come with me and take a peek. This cute sign welcomes you as you step onto the porch.Near the front door, on an old black stove, sits this cute little character. (A darling decorated artificial pumpkin beside him disappeared on Halloween night!)
A pretty wreath has a special place on the front door each year.
The dining room table is festive with a silly scarecrow, tall pilgrim candles, a little book and a crocheted pumpkin that I made for her many years ago. The leaves on the deck and in the back yard add the colors of the season.
My neighbor across the street decorates her porch for the seasons. Autumn Greetings await your arrival. Little white lights add to the scene at night.
I'm behind schedule decorating my home for the season. I have finally started to get the house ready for Thanksgiving with our family - I'll share pictures soon. Until then, have a happy autumn day!

  1. Love your Mothers front door and her decorations! Too bad that pumpkin disappeared. We had that happen one year with one my daughter had carved.
