Until Then

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is just a stepping stone
Along a trail that's leading always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.

The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they’re borrowed for a while;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.

This weary world with all its toil and struggle
May take its toll of misery and strife;
The soul of man is like a waiting falcon;
When it’s released it’s destined for the skies.

Refrain
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on.
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.

Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
II Corinthians 5:1

I am sure that what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that will be shown to us. Romans 8:18

  2. Some 25 years ago a missionary couple from Philipine visited my church in Adelaide, South Australia. They taught me this song "Until Then". Having moved many time I lost the lyrics. I now live in Melbourne. I have been searching for the words of this beautiful song. Thank you for having the words posted on your website. I have read through your personal testimony. It is wonderful what you are doing. I am now a missionary myself and serving the needs of the kingdom helping people find their eternal destiny in God.

    May God bless you and continue to use you in your areas of ministry.
    Regards
